Greenwalls Glory (dry) (my version)
Hook- Gamakatsu S10-3F size 16 to 10
Thread- Olive
Body- Waxed green floss
Rib- Madeira jewel 525
Tail- Furnace cock fibres
Hackle- Furnace cock
As always, start ¼ shank length back from eye. A traditional Greenwells has wings, forget these as they are tricky to tie, become damaged, and are not needed.
The secret for me with this fly is the waxing of the body thread and the use of Madeira for the ribbing.
As always end with three coats of nail varnish on the head.
