I recently took some time away from work and hit some of the most amazing coast line Australia has to offer, Yalata Beach, South Australia. With the 14hr trip out of the way we hit the beach. The sun was high, Mako sunglasses on and the water was clear, making it easy to spot the gutters along the beach. A good set of polarised sunglasses are a must for finding deep gutters on the beach and Mako have that covered with the amazing selection to cover all budgets.
We picked a nice gutter along the stretch of coast line, baited our Gamakatsu 9/0 hooks with fresh squid, flicked it out in the clear deep water and waited. It wasn’t long and the rod had a nice bend in it. These beaches over here are known for some of the best Mulloway fishing Australia has to offer, it also offers some great bread and butter species.
It wasnt long and we had a nice Gummy shark landed. Needless to say that one was destined for the dinner table that night. We had a amazing 7 days on the beach and the Gamakatsu hooks didnt let us down once, landing fish from Salmon trout, all the way up to Gummie’s and the mighty Mulloway, staying sharp and holding their points fish after fish.
